Privacy Policy

Tandem keeps a brand's rules, approved claims and assets in one place, and brings them into the tools people already use. This policy explains what information Tandem collects, why, who it goes to, and the choices you have.

Tandem is operated by Tandem Websites LLC ("Tandem", "we", "us"). This policy covers our website, builtintandem.com; the Tandem app at brand.builtintandem.com; and Tandem's apps and connections for other tools.

Two kinds of information

Your account. When you use Tandem, we collect information about you as a user. We decide how that information is used, and this policy describes it.

Your organization's brand content. The brand guides, rules, files and documents that a company or agency puts into Tandem belong to that customer. We hold and process them on the customer's behalf, under our agreement with them. If you have a question about that content, start with the administrator of your organization's Tandem account.

What we collect

Account information. Your name, email address, password and role, and the organization and brands you have access to.

Brand content. What your organization adds to Tandem, such as brand guides, rules, approved claims, files and documents, and conversations with Tandem's assistant.

Content you send from another tool. When you use Tandem from a connected tool, the content you send is used to produce the result you asked for.

Connections. When you connect another service to Tandem, we store the access details that service provides so the connection keeps working.

Usage information. Which features are used, when and by whom, and errors. This doesn't include the content itself.

Website forms. If you ask for a demo or join the waitlist, we receive your name, email address, company and any message you include. If you book a meeting on our website, the booking is handled by Google Calendar, and Google's privacy policy applies to it.

Cookies. We use cookies and browser storage to keep you signed in, protect your account and remember your preferences. We don't use advertising cookies or third-party analytics.

How we use it

To provide Tandem and the features, apps and connections you use.
To bill for the service and apply plan limits.
To keep Tandem secure, prevent abuse and investigate problems.
To send service emails, such as invitations and password resets.
To support you when you ask for help.
To understand, in aggregate, how Tandem is used, so we can improve it.

We don't sell personal information, and we don't use it for advertising.

AI

Some Tandem features use AI models from third-party providers. We send them only what a request needs. We don't use your content to train AI models, and our providers' terms don't allow them to train their models on it.

AI output can be wrong. Review it before you publish or rely on it.

Who we share it with

Service providers that run Tandem for us, such as hosting, storage, database, AI and email providers, under contracts that limit what they can do with the data. A current list is available on request.

Services you connect. Tools you or your organization connect to Tandem receive only what's needed for what you ask them to do. Their own privacy policies apply to what they hold.

Your organization. Administrators of your organization's Tandem account can see the users, content and usage in that account.

When the law requires it, or to protect the rights, safety or property of Tandem, our customers or others.

If Tandem's business is sold or merged, the information may transfer to the new owner under the same protections.

Where it's stored

Tandem's data is stored in the United States.

How long we keep it

Account information is kept while your account is active.
Brand content is kept while your organization's subscription is active, unless your organization deletes it sooner.
When a customer closes their account, they have 30 days to export their brand content. We then delete it within 30 days, and our backups are overwritten within a further 30 days, so it's gone from our systems within 90 days of the account closing.
Usage records and logs are kept for 12 months.

Your choices

Your account: update your details in Tandem. To delete your account, contact your organization's administrator or email us.
Brand content: your organization's administrators can export or delete it.
Connected tools: disconnect them in Tandem or in the tool itself.
Privacy rights: depending on where you live, you may have the right to access, correct, delete or receive a copy of your personal information, or to object to how we use it. Email support@builtintandem.com and we'll respond within the time the law requires. If we hold the information for one of our customers, we'll pass your request to them.

Security

We protect information with safeguards such as encryption in transit and role-based access. No system is perfectly secure. If you find a security problem, please email support@builtintandem.com.

Children

Tandem is a business service and isn't directed to children under 16.

Changes

If we change this policy, we'll update the date at the top. If a change is significant, we'll let account administrators know before it takes effect.
